Devon Harris began teaching yoga in 2016 after her first trip to India.
Through ongoing study in the Iyengar tradition under her teachers Aretha Mckinney, Kristin Bosteels, and Eddie Modestini, she approaches yoga as a lifelong contemplative practice — a way of staying in conversation with oneself.
Raised on the southernmost coast of Maine, Devon opened Una in Portland in the spring of 2026 as a small studio dedicated to thoughtful practice.
Erin Ehlers has been teaching yoga for over 25 years.
She approaches teaching as an educational practice, valuing understanding and inquiry over achievement. Her work integrates contemporary movement principles with the philosophical traditions of yoga — humor is her secret ingredient.
After running her own studio in Kittery, Maine, Erin moved to Portland in 2020, where she is known as a beloved “teacher’s teacher.” In addition to teaching yoga, she is also a massage therapist and an organic flower farmer.
Witold Fitz-Simon has been teaching yoga since 2000.
He has completed the 500-hour Advanced Studies Program at the Yoga Room Berkeley under Donald Moyer and Mary Lou Weprin.
A nationally certified Alexander Technique teacher, he served on the faculty of the American Center for the Alexander Technique’s teacher training program from 2016 until its closure in 2018 and has maintained a private practice since 2014.
Witold integrates yoga, the Alexander Technique, embodied anatomy, and developmental movement into a lively somatic approach to self-expression and the body.
Dragana Pavic-Zappia is a Certified Level II Iyengar Yoga teacher.
Born and raised in former Yugoslavia, she moved to Maine in 2002 from Athens, Greece, and returned again in 2020 after many years in South Carolina.
She completed her Iyengar Yoga mentorship with Aretha McKinney and continues her studies under the guidance of senior teacher John Schumacher. Her teaching is grounded in the study of the Yoga Sūtras of Patañjali and the eight limbs of yoga.
Rich Ray is a Level II Authorized Ashtanga yoga teacher who has been teaching since 2012.
He began his practice in 1996 with David Garrigues and has made numerous trips to Mysore to study with the Jois family, particularly Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and Paramaguru Sharath Jois, who authorized him to teach.
Rich is the director of Ashtanga Yoga Portland Maine. His teaching is also informed by more than 25 years of Zen Buddhist practice, including four years of full-time training at a silent Zen monastery.
Philomena Richard has been teaching vinyasa yoga since 2022 and currently assists Rich Ray at the Ashtanga Shala of Portland.
She completed her 200-hour training through the School Yoga Institute in Lake Atitlán, Guatemala, and has pursued additional study in yoga anatomy with Jason Crandell. Under Rich’s guidance, she continues to refine her understanding of asana and the art of hands-on adjustment.
As a complement to her training in nursing—she will graduate this spring—Philomena’s teaching is rooted in the belief that yoga practice offers a way to reconnect with the complexity and intelligence of the human body.
